After 18 months of planning and consultation, we are excited to announce the establishment of the Australian Veterans Linguist Association (AVLA). ✨

AVLA has been developed by a group of passionate Defence linguists from across the Army, Navy, and Air Force, aiming to create a professional and social networking community for both current and retired Defence linguists.

🏗️ While we’re just getting started, AVLA eventually aims to provide a range of services and opportunities such as advocacy, networking events, mentoring program, career support, recognition, industry liaison, providing access to civilian industry and military professional development training, and much more.

📆 Over the next few months, the board of directors and other dedicated volunteers will be working hard to develop AVLAs infrastructure, prior to opening up for member registrations.

We look forward to working with our future members and also developing partnerships with Australian and international T&I industry organisations. 🌏 🤝
